Inspired by a post I just saw! Reblog and tell me who the best friends of your protagonists are across all Bioware games you’ve played, playable party only.

Aveline Shepard’s besties are Tali and Garrus. Bonding over a love for tech and proficiency with sniper rifles. But she’s also very close with EDI and really appreciates her unique perspective on things.

Emily Ryder’s bestie is Peebee, they love to discuss and argue about xeno-archaeology. And she loves hanging out with Jaal as well, thinks he’s just a swell guy. And of course Drack is her honorary grandad/drinking buddy, one of the few people who can match her in a drinking game. And she and Cora grow to be really good friends by the end of the story. The whole Tempest crew is like a family to her though, really.

Kieshara has so many besties honestly it’s kind of insane. Leliana is her partner but also her bestie, stabby wives obsessed with their cultural fashions. She also has a very close “what are we” kind of friendship with Morrigan, and is Kieran’s genetic father (bc magic who cares). She sends a bundle of cookies to Sten every year around the Winter Solstice. Her and Alistair are kind of on cold terms after she gets him crowned sadly, but they eventually become closer friends again. She gets along really well with Sigrun, feels like she can be a little bit more of a weird little freak around her lmao. Also she is very platonically fond of both Anders and Justice so that’s gonna be a fun revelation for her, she was very hurt when they both left Vigil’s Keep (and stole her fucking deep roads maps)

Juliana’s bestie is also Anders, she sympathizes deeply with his struggles since she is not only a fellow mage, but shares a bond with a Spirit Of Compassion. So she does kind of Get It™. She also has a fun codependent on-again-off-again romantic friendship with Isabela (things eventually stabilize tho). And of course she’s very close to Varric, but for the first several years of their friendship, Juliana kind of thought Varric didn’t like her all that much until she started to figure him out. And Merrill is her wife, for what it’s worth <3

Valyhra’s best friends are a little harder to discern for me. The closest thing she has to a bestie in the early game is Solas, as former First To The Keeper, and a lifelong student of magic, she finds his knowledge of the Fade fascinating (if just a bit suspect) and she forms a close tutor/protégé dynamic with him, and then he left. Her other close friend was Sera, until she drank from the Well Of Sorrows. She gets along well with Dorian, and her partner Iron Bull, but sometimes she feels that the only one who really understands her is Cole. (and I know you said playable party only but I do think she would be very good friends with Josephine and Leliana)
